Lamb Satay and Curry (Gulai) - Pucang Rinenggo Surabaya

Surabaya city has entered the rainy season that i've been waiting for a prolonged drought. From mid-November to December was raining almost every day brings cool air in the morning until noon. This cool weather conditions which makes me always feel hungry until i decided to stop by for a dinner at one of the roadside food vendors, located on the Pucang Rinenggo street (Pucang Post Office).
In this place there are many sellers who sell Indonesian-style dishes. For this occasion i chose to eat Lamb Satay & Curry is much visited by lovers of culinary in Surabaya. The strategic location and visible from the motorway to make this eating places are easily seen by anyone passing on the street of Pucang.

Hotel Istana

Hotel Istana
Jl. KH. Agus Salim 73-75, Tulungagung

Friends....The time has come to rest after travelling for more than five hours drive from Surabaya. This time we will stay for one night at the Istana Hotel which is located at the KH. Agus Salim No. 73-75 street, Tulungagung.

Istana Hotel-night front view

First entered the newly established hotel about two years ago, i get a good impression. The first, outside-inside hotel cleanliness; secondly, looks simple but modern (Classy); third, the Lobby space feels spacious and minimalist; fourth, furnished in a modern style (following current trend); fifth, lighting of the interior lamp harmonious blend of white and light yellow colours and the sixth, a friendly welcome from security officer to the hotel reception staff.

The Lobby at Ground Floor
I hope that impression will continue in to the room.
The hotel offers three types of rooms ranging from Superior rooms, Deluxe rooms and Istana Suites room with rates per night start from IDR 388.000,00 (Superior) up to IDR 888.000,00 (Istana Suite). I took a Deluxe room type with interiors and great (modern) facilities for a such hotel in the city of Tulungagung.

They gave me a smart room key (comes with chips) number 505, my wife and i along with the luggage that was delivered by a hotel bellboy went straight to the elevator to go up to 5th floor. Arrived on the 5th floor we were then shown to the room  by a hotel bellboy. Entering the room is quite spacious and very well-furnished, modern minimalist and thumbs up to this hotel which blends well with the impression of modern simplicity.

Pasar Soponyono

Shopping at THE SOPONYONO'S TRADITIONAL MARKET - Rungkut Surabaya

Sunday is a good time to relaxing and take care of the house from sweeping the floor, mopping, watering plants. etc.....
Well, this morning i spend to take my wife shopping for the needs of the next week. Usually, she is shopping in Soponyono's traditional market located on the Rungkut Alang-Alang street. It's one of the main market in the region Rungkut Surabaya.
Front facing

Inner alley

Conditions in the market like most other traditional markets in Indonesia. Crowded traders, less clean & neat is a general overview of this market. But this is an option because most of Indonesian society has to offer cheaper prices than we have to buy in a modern market with all the amenities and comfort.
Wide range of needs, such as vegetables, beef, fish, chicken, herbs, clothing and household items can also be found here. Specialty vegetables, fruits, beef, fish, chicken and fresh herbs in a state because it have to come directly from producing areas around Surabaya.
